Shaun McCarthy is the Vice President for Cisco’s Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group. In this role, Shaun is responsible for setting the sales strategy and leading a global organization of sales and technology specialists focused on leading customers through network transformations. The organization is committed to helping customers develop new and grow existing revenue streams, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. This organization leads customers through major architectural transitions such as the convergence of IP and Optical into the Routed Optical Network (RON) and the evolution to 5G.
Previously, Shaun was the Area Vice President for Cisco’s Global Service Provider Sales Theater responsible for the AT&T account. In this role, Shaun drove a transformation of the overall relationship with AT&T which led to Cisco winning AT&T’s next generation Edge deployment, as well as the launch of several new joint offers including SD-WAN, IoT, and Security solutions.
With over 20 years of Service Provider experience driving go-to-market strategy. Prior to joining Cisco, he led sales governance for Palo Alto Network’s global relationship with AT&T and Verizon. Shaun has also held leadership positions at companies including Palo Alto Networks, Brocade and Vyatta.
Shaun holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree from Northeastern University. He resides in Denver with his wife and two children. In this free time, Shaun enjoys participating in outdoor activities including skiing, rock climbing and mountain biking.
