Building Quantum Technologies: A Grand Challenge

Building quantum computers is hard. The problem is two-fold: quantum hardware development requires a lot of specialized expertise, sustained financial support, scientific and technological breakthroughs, and simultaneously, there is also a lack of known applications, useful beyond science, for the hardware built so far. Despite the hype you may hear in the market, we are still at the very early stages of quantum computing. In this session, Simone Severini, director, quantum technologies at AWS, and his team will give an overview of the key pillars of AWS’s quantum technologies strategy, AWS’s efforts to push the boundaries of R&D to build quantum technologies and integrate them into the cloud,and how we are helping our customers prepare for a post-quantum future.
